It's a song...lend it your ear.

She's sweet as the sunshine and bright as the day
Whenever she smiles, the clouds all go away
Here in my arms she forever will stay
Song of my heart, she's my Latin Bouquet

Lazy Day Waltz
It's a song...lend it your ear.

You've had one of those days... sitting at the edge of a stream... dipping your toes into the water and swishing them around. Maybe you were just laying on a lawn somewhere. Not really doing anything, not thinking any sort of burdensome thoughts.

You may not have noticed, but on days like that, birds begin flying in tandem, bees synchronize their buzzing so that they buzz in harmonies and even some cats become friendly. OK, maybe I am stretching it with the bit about the cats.

Playland
It's a song...lend it your ear.

Sure you do... The anticipation of the ever-so-slow clock... The joy of the recess bell... The mad rush out of the classroom... ten or fifteen minutes of freedom... ten or fifteen minutes of swings, slides, monkey bars and jungle gyms. Running around in circles bouncing giant red balls.

All too soon it is over and you are headed back to the classroom.

The Optimistic Nihilist
It's a song...lend it your ear.

Clarence Pfricht was having a bad week. Everything was going wrong. Everything always goes wrong. Everything had nothing better to do than go wrong because if they didn't go wrong, they would only go worse.

Some things never change. Clarence was quite sure that they never would change,I mean, why should they? after all, Clarence was Clarence and nothing good ever happens to Clarence.

Starlight
It's a song...lend it your ear.

The evening is an unchanging thing. The Earth spins us out of the sunlight and into the night and we pass through the luminal ombre of dusk to get there. And as we pass through the dusk the starts don't appear, they don't move across the sky... we, move beneath them as they shine in their seemingly infinite and unchanging poses.

It is distance, alone, that gives the starlight that placid and serene appearance. It is distances of lightyears to thousands of lightyears that tame the fierce radiance of our sun into the tiny glimmers that bejewel the night sky we pass beneath.

As we pass beneath, we should dance. Dance.... The days of our lives, our daily routines, our interactions with lovers and friends. Dance because it is the best thing to do and we have such a short time in which to do it. The evening will always be here, it is an unchanging thing, and we spin beneath as if on butterfly wings.

Parallax
It's a song...lend it your ear.

Hold your thumb out and squint one eye. Move your thumb so it is hiding something in the distance.... try a car.   Now squint the other eye ... without moving you thumb... The car appears again, you're not surprised. Now open both eyes and look at your thumb.. The car... is it there? Is it not there? by changing your attention you can hide the car or not. That is an aspect of parallax.

Plays Antonin Dvorak
It's an Album

In this collection, Gerluz presents the music of Czech composer Antonin Dvorak.
Beginning with the five movements of Dvorak's "Serenade for Strings Opus 22" that have been transcribed for a two piano duet, followed by the eight Humoresques.

Gerluz writes: I have always found comfort in the music of Antonin Dvorak, he is lyrical & dynamic. Wherever I have travelled I have found people who loved his music. Once I was wintering over in Corsica, playing for tips as I travelled around the island. It is an island of small, beautiful beaches and unexpected vistas.   ...Read more
Plays Scott Joplin
It's an Album

Gerluz plays twenty-one of Scott Joplins favorite ragtime pieces. While you might be familiar with some of these pieces, Gerluz plays each in his own way.

There are some people who think that Scott Joplin's music needs to be played strictly to the notes on the sheet music. But you must remember that to sell the most copies of sheet music it must be:
first, good music, Scott Joplin had that covered. and,
Second, easy enough to play that most of the people who tried it got enough satisfaction from the results that they would want to buy the next title from the same composer.

Additionally, the publisher wanted to have the music printed as cheaply as possible so sections were reapeated Scott might have been saying "No, but the second repetition must be altered by so and so." towhich the publisher probably replied "but that would require an extra four pages of layout and printing which would nearly double our costs... Sorry Scott, we'll put the repeats there."
With those thought in mind Gerluz has applied his mind and talents to create interpretations of Scott Joplin's music that are vibrant and engaging. We're sure you will agree.   ...Read more
Indian Summer
It's a song...lend it your ear.

It's late October and the trees have all turned. Perhaps the last chance in the year for a barbecue. The warm afternoon had been taken advantage of and now you sit in the back relaxing, enjoying the stillness. Kids playing over in the schoolyard, a dog barks a few streets over. All is good as the earth spins the stars into sight.

San Francisco Steamer
It's a song...lend it your ear.

Everybody is in a rush to get there in the morning. The tall building beckon as the little steam ferry battles its way across the bay on a wet and blustery day. Down in the engine room, men are busy shoveling coal into the incandescent maw of the boiler. There are gauges that need to be watched, valves that need to be twiddled with, levers that need to be pulled and passengers to be delivered on time.

On weekends it is entirely different. The weather is always warm and balmy. The passengers smile and joke and the seagulls drop candy bars for the crew.
